Standing Committees
The Standing Committee for the Development and Evaluation of Graduate Studies Programs
Tasks of the Committee:
- Study the proposals of department and college councils to introduce new programs for the master’s and doctoral degrees and their conformity with the unified regulation for postgraduate studies in Saudi universities, and the organizational and executive rules and procedures for the regulation approved by the University Council.
- Surveying the views of the relevant departments and colleges on the proposed postgraduate programs.
- Studying the reports on evaluating master’s and doctoral programs and preparing its views on them.
- Studying the amendments proposed by the departments to the courses and study plans and preparing the necessary recommendations in this regard.
- Identifying the most important global trends in the field of graduate programs.
- Submit annual reports on all activities of the committee in relation to the new and modified postgraduate programs.
- Studying what is referred to it by the Council of the Dean of Graduate Studies and preparing the necessary recommendations regarding programs.
Standing Committee for Student Affairs
This committee consists of the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs as a chair, and the membership of each of the Dean's advisors, and the Director of the Student Affairs Unit.
Tasks of the Committee:
- Considering the lists of accepted students and recommending them in preparation for submission to the Deanship Council.
- Follow-up the performance of graduate students in all stages of study in all university faculties to observe compliance with the unified regulations for postgraduate studies in universities and the organizational and executive rules and procedures for the regulations.
- Studying requests for additional and exceptional periods, determining their compliance with the regulations, and preparing the necessary recommendations in this regard.
- Considering the justifications for canceling and returning the registration and recommending the acceptance or non-acceptance of those justifications in light of the regulations.
- Considering the proposed formation of departments and colleges for arbitration committees for master’s and doctoral theses, and their compliance with the regulations, and preparing the necessary recommendations in this regard.
- Considering grant applications and proposing appropriate recommendations thereon.
- Studying what is referred to it by the Council of the Deanship of Graduate Studies.
